Questions on Lost . . .

While trying to fall asleep on Thursday night after watching "Lost", I came up with some questions . . .

If people have such trouble finding the island, how did the Darma people find it in the first place?

How did the others get there? Some of them seem to be "original inhabitants of the island". So, how long have they been there? The character that talks to teenage Ben about gassing all of the Darma people has not aged in the current episodes. Do the original inhabitants of the island not age? Does this have to do with the healing power of the island or the space/time continuum?

How come Ben does not have trouble finding the island?

How can the others get to and from the island without having trouble with the space/time continuum? They have traveled to and from the island in a submarine, is the space/time continuum not messed up when you are under water?

How does Charles Whidmore (Penny's father) tied into all of this? Does he have anything to do with Darma? Or with Jacob? What does he want with Ben? In the flash forward do Ben and Sayed work for him?

Why would pregnant people die if the island has healing powers?

I laughed so hard at this. Duane and I watch it and then go..."huh?" every week. I've even gotten a bunch of my high school students hooked. I'll let you know if I come up with a flash of brilliance.
