Table Emergency!!!!!!!!!

So back in September we were moving our dining room table. I stupidly tried to move my end while Dan's end was still on the carpet. The spinning motion just ripped the leg right off. Well, we called Wickes where we got the table, and they came out to look at it. The guy said it couldn't be fixed and he would order a new leg.

Fast forward 3 months...Dan says to me on Wednesday, "Hey Where's our table leg? They never sent it!" So he calls and it was ordered, but come to find out, our table is discontinued. So since they can't find the part they gave us a credit to go buy a new table! We thought they were just going to be like, "Sorry, Too bad for you."

Here's where the emergency comes in. Christmas is Monday and we have no table for people to eat at, so I had to go immediately to Wickes to buy our new table and just hope they have something in stock that I like. Luckily they did!

Middle school moment of the day...

I sent a student to the office today for singing "Baby Got Back" ( a rap song about how the artist likes to get with ladies with large posteriors). But, he changed the words to "I like big titties and I cannot lie". Can you believe an 11 year old would say such a thing! Then, some stupid kid took the blame for his friend and almost got suspended.

C'est la vie...

Sadness

Sadness is seeping in that I have to return to work in 2 and a half weeks!
It has been wonderful being home with the kiddos, but I must do my duties to earn some dough. Some days I am ready to get out and be with adults, but most days I just want to stay home and watch my kids grow up. It has been so fun to be with Kelsey and see her smiles and giggles. I am so attached to her now I can't think of being with out her the whole day. But, I did the same with Connor and I survived...somehow.

On a happier note: In homage to my Papa, an article from the onion featuring RC Cola.

"Man Love"

Great quote by the chief on last night's Grey's is the title of today's blog! The chief, unaware of the sexual preferences of his favorite bartender and his tent mate, brought along a rolling suitcase and a picnic basket with brie on a fishing trip in the woods! I'm sorry, who is supposed to be gay in this scene?

I would have thought Addison would have been more upset about Callie sleeping with Mc. Steamy. Maybe she really is over him. But odd that her and Callie are now bonded.

Merideth is so stupid. Going out with Mc. Steamy? Like that's a good idea. "Seriously". He sleeps with everyone. Does she really think that's going to change? Good thing he went to the bathroom right before Mc Dreamy came in.

But, Mc D's lines in the bar were really cheesy. The writers/creators keep saying these are characters we can relate to. "Seriously?" If Dan ever said cheesy lines like that I would think he was abducted by aliens.

Pet Peeves

This is an open forum to add you pet peeves to the list:

1. Hair on or in the bathroom sink. Yuck.
2. Same side boothers (adj.) two persons who sit on the same side of the booth at a restaurant when on a date (or other activity).
3. Leaving the sponge or scrubber in the bottom of the kitchen sink then piling dishes on top of it.
4. When people chew gum or eat an apple while on the phone with you.
5. Water on the bathroom sink (like after you wash you face or brush your teeth and get water everywhere).

I am sure there are more, so I'll add as I think of them. Feel free to vent yours!

Poop Day 2006

Poop day 2006:

Picture a quiet morning, baby Kelsey is sleeping upstairs, Connor is playing with his trains, I am checking my e-mail while the dogs sleep peacefully on their beds next to me. (I just realized this would have sounded great if I had made it into a "Twas the Night Before Christmas" Poem, but alas, I am not a poet.) I half notice Peanut get up, which is not unusual. She sleeps only half as much as Abby. She takes a loop around the house and then I hear a huge loud "Phhhhhhhhhhtttttttttttt" (is that how you spell a farting noise?). I think I must be mistaken because Connor has never farted that loudly-even in his first week of life. I think it must be paper rustling or perhaps Connor has found an empty grocery bag, which I must immediately confiscate due to the suffocation hazzard.

I run into the front room and see Peanut running away from what can only be described as something that looks like that dark brown salsa from Baja Fresh, minus the tomatoes. I immediately put her out and try to do damage control, all the while trying to keep Connor from touching the filth. I start mopping it up with dry paper towels, wet paper towels, etc. when I realize that the force of the enormous fart that came out of my dog's rear had caused the "salsa" to spray a bit, landing some droplets on my shoes sitting near the scene of the crime (a slow motion CSI scene enters my mind-eeewww).

I rush to get the carpet cleaner spray from under the sink, all the while yelling to Connor to stay away from the poo poo. I try, to no avail, to spray the cleaner on the "spot". The freakin thing is broken (at which point I wished I was a cusser, but I am not). So I grab some cleaner that I got suckered into buying from the WT lady that came to my door to sell it a few weeks ago. (I really love the cleaner though.) I spray that enough to soak the carpet and then quarantine off the area. I then open all of the windows in an attempt to get the stench out. The thought then enters my mind, "Crap. We just agreed to have another open house on Sunday!!!"

I convince Connor to watch Nemo (which is not difficult) so I can keep him away from the "area". About an hour later Connor has climbed onto a dining room chair to try to abscond the halloween candy I have hidden. I go over to "assist" him in putting it back when I notice what looks like poop on the dining room chair. Ahhhhh! Mind you, we have cream cloth on the seats. I calmly ask Connor if he stepped in Peanut's poo poo, which he repeatedly says no to. So I tell him we need to clean his feet. I wipe his feet off and realize there is no poop on his feet. I am perplexed. Aha! (lightbulb over head) So, I ask Connor if he went poo poo. I check his diaper and, of course, he has and it has started to come out of his diaper, which got on the chair when he sat on it. I go to change his diaper and when I grab his ankles to pull his legs up I realize there is poop on them, which has now transferred to me (eeewww). I start to clean up a very messy poop when I come to the end of my package of wipes. (again, wish I was a cusser) So, I clean him up as best as possible with the 2 wipes that are left (I usually use about 4 wipes on him). I throw the diaper on and swiftly move him to the sink to wash his legs, ankles, and feet-and my hands!!

Needless to say, when Dan called to see if I wanted to meet him for dinner I said I was too stressed!

BTW: Good news! Stanley Steemer was able to come out to clean the carpet before the open house!

Uniquity (a new word?)

I became more unique by getting married! There are 16 other people with the name Krista Gross in the US and only 1 with the name Krista Marriott! Find out how many people have your name!

Halloween was so much more fun this year! Connor had a blast trick or treating! I think he had the most fun just yelling "trick or treat" as he was running down the street! He also got the hang of "Happy halloween" and "I'm Yoda". Sadly, we lost our camera on Halloween, so this is the pic from the day we got the costume in the mail.

On a brighter note, We get to get a new camera!

You can't make a 2 year old wait an hour...

What is going on with the cast of Grey's Anatomy? Fighting on the set? Outing a co-worker? And now rumor has it that a cast member may be leaving? As my cohort in Grey's blogging put it so eloquently, "Hug it out bitches!"

Could I be more pissed at JC Penney's? Thursday I went to have the kids halloween pics taken. We arrived to find there was only two people in front of us, but with 2 studios going, how long could it take? Well, we waited over an hour!!! It got to be past 1:00 and I started to complain. We finally got called in and Kelsey was screaming her head off (bright lights? hot flannel costume? sheer exhaustion? you call it.) and Connor was a typical overly tired two year old (aka: uncoorperative). He kept falling off of the blocks they had for him to sit on (on purpose) and would NOT smile. I think Kelsey screaming and my impatience and sweatiness didn't help. Luckily my mom was with me or I might have lost it.

After about 10 or 15 minutes we just gave up and decided to see if there was another appointment the next day. There was and it was earlier so we hoped not to run in to nap time. So, Friday morning I get us all ready to go. I arrive 5 minutes early for my appointment. Find that once again there is only one person in front of us and 2 studios going. So...AN HOUR LATER - yes that's right we had to wait an hour again! - we get called in. Connor could not be torn away from watching Toy Story in the lobby, but after Kelsey took a few cute shots he calmed down. Finally we got him to smile too! But, by the time we went to do pics together Kelsey was wound up and hot again (that girl is sweaty!-does not get that from me) so we got one pic together where Yoda is kissing Princess Leia's screaming face! (I'll post those as soon as I get them!)

Grey Break Down

So Merideth was not pregnant after all! And Mc Dreamy bowed out??? Seriously??? Are you freakin kidding me??? I didn't think he was the type to give up so easily. And then she chose him??? Seriously????? (well I was kinda hpoing for that, but we'll see what the outcome is).

And Thank you Callie for finally breaking it off with George who seems to not really care.

Great line by Miranda to Addison - "Keep your legs closed around him." (referring to McSteamy). Loved it! She has some of the best lines!

"Slimy, yet satisfying"

Yesterday we went to the LA County fair and we saw a goat being born!!!!! I actually saw the second half of the goat come out! A little yucky, but soooo amazing! She had a second one but it was stillborn. We came back later and she was walking around with the afterbirth hanging out-definitely yucky!

The fair was fun on a weekday-I've never been except for on field trips. We got to go in the petting zoo-there was no line! We watched the trains and went on rides-again no lines! Connor had so much fun on the rides and especially watching the "big choo choo trains".

"TV's New McDreamy"??????? Seriously?

While watching my new favorite show last night, Grey's Anatomy, ABC aired a commercial for the new show Men in Trees where the New York Post referred to the main guy as "TV's New Mc Dreamy". I WAS SHOCKED!!! I cannot believe anyone would STEAL a nickname from another show. Come up with your own nicknames!

I had a few thoughts during the show:
~Last week some friends and I discussed Callie's (Dr. Torres-the orthopedic surgeon with the tree trunk for a body) standing with the group. I think last night she may have gotten herself inned. She claimed the panties for Meredith! And now she is living with George at Meredith's house.

~Speaking of the panties, not surprising that Meredith is sooooo selfish that she didn't even thank Callie for claiming them when she had numerous chances later that day.

~And, is Meredith really that great that she has TWO (count them - TWO) hot guys fighting for her? so unfair...

~Save the best for last - the return of McSteamy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yoda

What the heck is "Pageant of the Lord"? I saw this advertised at Forrest Lawn-yeah the cemetary. Is it some sort of beauty pageant with Jesus as judge? Or maybe it's a pageant for all of the different gods to compete in. Or people dressed as Jesus competing in a pageant? Well, it's on October 8 if you are interested in attending :-)

Well, we've gone past the Nemo phase, past the "Kitty cat movie" phase (The Aristocats), through the "Lion Movie" phase (The Lion King), and have now entered the Star Wars Phase. Dan is, of course, ecstatic! Also Connor has decided to be Yoda for Halloween. The costume arrived today and we put it on immediately. He loved it! He did not fight taking it off for naptime, but I have a feeling that "Revenge of the Sith" will be viewed in full costume this evening!

I love maternity leave!

went to the mall with "Grandma Annie" today. We went to the playground and had a starbucks while Connor played and Kelsey ate. Then had lunch, did some shopping and rode the train! What a fun day! I wish I could be a stay at home mommy. Or even work part time. I love planning things with friends on a weekday. I am going to go to the MOMS group at my church a few times while I am home (they don't meet during the summer-do we need a special MOMS summer group for teachers?)

FYI: The LA county fair is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays! I did not know this. The original plan for the day was to go to the fair. OOPS!

baby hickeys and other rantings

Well, it has been over a month since my last blog! WOW! My apologies to my loyal fans! j/k

As you can see baby Kelsey is here! She is 5 weeks old today. She has started smiling at us and making little "cooing" noises (which sound nothing like cooing, but more like she's saying "uhh". She also sounds like she has a scratchy voice! So cute!)

She sometimes will suck on her hands, especially when she is having "tummy time". The other day she sucked so hard on her arm she actually gave herself a hickey!!!! So funny!

Connor is a great big brother. Always kissing her and playing with her head. He is very sweet.

Well, today is the 5th anniversary of September 11. The coverage has been on all day. It has once again been overwhelming emotionally, as it is every year. It seems my emotional "wounds" are still fresh every time I see the buildings on fire or collapsing. I guess it's a good reminder of what can happen and that we need to do everything we can to protect our country. Also, everyone kept talking about the amazing unity and patriotism that came out of that day. I hope that with all of the coverage today that people will remember once again patriotism, humanitarianism, how to love your neighbor, and to fly a flag. The stories even carried onto ESPN's monday night football countdown! And of course onto the football field as well. It's great to see everyone waving flags at the game and chanting "USA! USA! USA!"

PTL for the 80's-and I don't mean the decade!

Baby day is tomorrow! Yea, it is finally here! And not soon enough, as another heat wave will be coming next weekend!

Could I BE more uncomfortable? I can barely get up off the couch to pee on my own! I was thinking, "I will be so glad to have the baby and not be sooooo uncomfortable! I will be able to roll over in bed without pain!" What? Helllloooo? I am having a c-section!!! Rolling over in bed will not be an option for awhile! And raise your hand if you think large incisions are comfortable??

Which reminds me, what's with freakin people who OPT to have a c-section instead so they don't have to go through the pain of childbirth? One day of pain vs. 6-8 weeks of recovery from surgury? One day of pain vs. not being able to laugh because you have NO abdominal muscles? One day of pain vs. not being able to do ANYTHING on your own for at least a week? . . . I think you get my point . . .

Why are we paying so much???

Why can't we just pay what it actually costs for gas, not these inflated rates that we have based on a "fear" that sometime in the future something "could go wrong" or whatever. We should be able to pay low prices until there actually is a problem. Right? Look at how much money the oil companies are making during our misery!

Finally-a date has been confirmed!

Yeah! We have finally booked a baby day! (One pro of having a c-section-planning ahead!)

The doc's office called this morning and, you won't believe it, we are back on for 08/07/06! After all that, we are back to the date we wanted (and I don't have to change the insurance forms that I already filled out)! My doc is going to do the surgery in the morning before he goes to his conference. But, we will be delivering at San Dimas not Foothill Pres. So the c-section will be at 7:30 AM on the 7th.

Keep us in your prayers!

P.S. Sorry my blog is always baby related! That's just what's going on with us right now!

Baby day...when the heck will it be????

Hey all! Well the update after our doctor's appt. today is not much of an update.

They are still working on a delivery date for me. The receptionist is trying to find another doctor to do the assist on the surgery but is having a hard time because everyone is on vacation. We may end up delivering at San Dimas or Queen of the Valley instead of Foothill Pres because she thinks she will have better luck with those. It will be the 10th or 11th though, not the 4th. My doc's already booked up for the 4th.

Part 2: I didn't sign up for Arizona

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!! The electric bill came today!!!! Last month's was not so bad ($114 is pretty good right? Although it's been $40 in previous months) I am embarrased to say what the bill is this month!!! What's a pregnant girl to do?

Sunday, July 23, 2006

I didn't sign up for Arizona!

hate the heat!!!! (See my earlier posting about how I hate wearing shorts!) I am definitely a winter person! You know that scene in You've Got Mail when Meg Ryan talks about how she loves Fall...I love that. A crisp, cold day when you need a sweater and a scarf; the sky is a clear blue because the wind has blown all of the smog out of So Cal; there are maybe a few puffy white clouds in the sky. (Ahhh, I am feeling cooler already!)

My point is - it is too darn HOT! And this "monsunal moisture" makes for a lovely day! NOT! Being pregnant in the 108 degree weather WITH monsunal moisture absolutely SUCKS!

To make matters worse, I got my car detailed yesterday (wanted it clean in preperation for the new baby) and then, low and behold, we get a thunder storm at the exact moment we pull out of the garage! $100 dollars down the drain! Well, I guess only $50, the inside of the car is still clean.

Please someone get me out of HADES!

Baby date change

We had planned our c-section for August 7th (then the baby's b-day would be 8/7/06). At the doctor's office the other day he asked the receptionist to schedule my c-section for the 7th. Then he walked off and she checked the calendar . . . he's out of town at a conference the 7th, 8th, and 9th!!! Oh no!

So, we are waiting to hear back from the doctor's office about the 10th, 11th, or 4th. The 4th and 11th and Friday's so apparently they get booked up at the hospitals far in advance, so we may not get either of those dates. Which leaves us with the 10th. I don't care which-just get this baby out of me!

I am just a little nervous about going into labor before the c-section, especially if it is one of the days my doctor is gone! Who will do my c-section if it is one of those days? Are all of the OB's in the area gong to the same conference? Will some intern do my surgury? Or maybe a orthopedic surgeon or a urologist? Who knows?!?! I need to stop freaking out and trust that God will provide me with the best! Pray for me!

New Baby Pics!

Saturday we went and had a 3-D Ultrasound. Here are a couple of pics. She is apparently very camera shy. She wouldn't move her hand away from her face for most of the time we were there. The 3-D pic that is my current profile picture is the best shot of her face (and hand!) we could get.

We did get another confirmation that she is in fact a girl! Whew! We have about 40 pictures of her arm and one of her leg (also up in front of her face). If you want to see them all we can let you borrow the CD-ROM. There's also a couple of movies on the CD-ROM from the ultrasound.

Ironing . . . for a newborn?

Well, I have started washing all of the clothes, blankets, towels, etc. for the new baby. Did you know you have to wash EVERYTHING before they come? And they have their own special detergent. Some women even wash their own clothes in baby detergent so as not to irritate the baby's skin. I say "toughen up little one-this is the real world!" J/K

So, I love all of the clothes I have recieved from people. But, things you have to iron for a baby? Come on people-think! Really though, some of the outfits I am referring to are my favorite ones, but I don't have too many clothes that I iron. Isn't that what the dry cleaner is for?

Nemo

We have come to the point in our parenting saga where Connor has decided to become obsessed with Nemo. Everday, all day, he wants to watch Nemo. We watched it 4 times over three days! Maybe I need to get out of the house more...

I don't think he would be happy with this picture titled "I Found Nemo".

Feelin Old

Well, It's here the big 3-0. You know how people ask you if you feel any older on your birthday? Well, today I do. But, I think it is from lack of sleep.

Connor has decided not to go to bed at night. Last night he was up past 11:00. He just plays in his room until he falls asleep-with the light on. Then the light wakes him up later and he cries. So we turn the light off and get him back into bed, but he gets out and turn the lights back on. The cycle continues. We got him a night light to no avail.

Last night he seemed scared so I got in bed with him for a few minutes, but every time I tried to leave he would start crying. Finally at about 4 in the morning I took him back to our bed. His bed is really uncomfortable! Maybe that is his problem.

Anyway, it is 10:40 and he is still asleep. Good or bad?
If anyone has any suggestions on how to curtail this problem let me know!

Countdown to the big one!

*No I am not talking about the big earthquake predicted here in California. I am talking about my 30th birthday. I will be 30 tomorrow.
I am feeling wierd about this birthday. I am no longer a 20-something. But I know there are great things to come in my life! It's just strange moving to that next decade.

*Well, I have to cover what happened on The View yesterday. I didn't see it personally, but Star Jones has quit The View. Apparently she was planning on making the announcement Friday, but shocked all on the show by announcing it yesterday. I heard she said some things on live TV that were not very nice(?). Anyway, today I made a point to watch the show and she's GONE! They took her out of the credits, they got a guest host, who Barbara thanked for agreeing to come so last minute. Then Barbara even made a cryptic joke about Star. It was wierd. I though there would be more closure (you know a farewell Star type of deal). Star has always bugged me on that show, so no big loss!

Wisdom remains...for now

Well, I did not get my wisdom teeth out after all. When I got there my dentist decided if I am not in pain he wanted to just wait until after I have the baby. Why couldn't they have told me that before I made the appointment and arranged child care??????

Well, at least I don't have to deal with the pain or grogginess...for now.

Becoming less wise

Today I become more stupid. Today I am getting my two remaining wisdom teeth out. Why do they call them wisdom teeth anyway? Is it because you get them when you are older so you are supposedly more wise? Don't most people get them in their teens? I don't know any teens I would call "wise". (maybe wise a**) Maybe they named them hundreds of years ago when people only lived to be 30 or 40 and got married in their teens, so were officially adults.

So, now that I am losing my remaining wisdom, I will be turning 30. I can't believe this day is just around the corner! I have been dreading it. Although I don't feel like a 20 something any more (married, two kids, teaching for 8 years), but I definitely don't feel like a 30 something. Identity crisis?!?!

Last Day!

Yea! The last day of school has arrived and with it 7 weeks of pre-baby maternity leave built right in! Of course I won't get paid... But 7 weeks to prepare for baby day!

I am so sick of school right now. I have had a really great year, but the last week of school is always so hard. The kids are so hyper and loud! Even if you show a movie they talk the whole time! Today I had a kid shoving another kid, then picked up his science fair project and hit the other kid over the head with it! Needless to say, I sent him to the office and he will not be attending my class tomorrow.

I told a few kids today, that were goofing around, that I spend the whole year liking you-don't ruin it today and make me not like you on the last day of school!

I have spent the last week preparing my classroom for a long term substitute for September. It is a lot of work trying to remember everything to tell the sub. The problem is I have to think of absolutely EVERY little detail to tell the sub because he will be training my kids to do everything the way I want. I have already typed like 6 pages-single spaced! I have photocopied enough stuff to last till November and have to file it all. Anyway, I have not had a relaxing last week of school!

Well, Baby day is officially Monday, August 7th! I will be having a c-section, so we schedule it ahead of time. For those of you who don't know, when I had Connor I was in labor for 12 hours and only dialated to 5 cm. They decided to do a c-section, which ended being a good thing because the cord was wrapped around Connor's neck.

Please Help Treasure!

There is a little girl from my school district who needs surgury and the state is not doing there part to get the funding in time before she loses most of her tongue. Please visit the website for the whole story and please consider making a donation! Our school has raised thousands of dollars in just a couple of weeks! It is so good to see the kids do something philanthropic!

Oh-read the Mother's letter on the website-it will touch your heart!

Footbinding

I am currently reading Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See.
This is a novel about the life of a chinese woman I believe in the late 1800's or early 1900's. It tracks her entire life, talks about the customs and traditions of her region, explains different rituals, ceremonies, festivals, etc. It is extremely interesting and a great story. I highly recommend it!

Anyway, the book details the custom of footbinding, which I knew little about. I find it a horrible, painful, and unnecesary custom. I am wondering if this awful tradition might have been invented by a man. Here is why (a quote from pg 37 of the book):
" 'The cleft is as deep as this inner girl's folds. She will make her husband a happy man.' ... 'The way her heel curves dowm like a sac with her forefoot pointed out just so will remind her husband of his own member. All day long that lucky man will be thinking of bed business.' "
Reminds him of his member?

Ummmm-phallic looking feet...sounds like it was invented by a man.

Here is a site that shows more about footbing. WARNING: Graphic Pictures!

Oops-I may have caused deaths?

Apparently my rage against the shorts may have caused some overseas tragedies. Here is a post from my friend Aileen's blog:

Did you hear this story: "An Iraqi tennis coach and two of his players were shot to death this week in Baghdad because they were wearing shorts." See, k144, your animosity toward shorts has resulted in an overseas attack. Muslim extremists? Or passersby tired of pasty cheese thighs?

Shorts or die

I am not a shorts person. I hate wearing shorts (don't really like my knees). I think I have worn shorts more times in the last 2 weeks than I have in the last 5 years! I am going to die being pregnant in July and August!

Nonnor

We have been trying to get Connor to say his name for a really long time! He's over 2 now so we thought he should be able to say it. Anyway, he finally said it today!!!!! Yeah!!! We are so excited!

We asked him his name and he said "Nonnor". Close enough!

Three outfits a day?

I have gone through three outfitstoday and I don't even have a newborn spitting up on me!! The day is not over-I could end up going through more!

I went to school lookin all cute (ha ha) and made it through the day without incident (although I'm sure if I had taken mac and cheese I would have gotten it on my shirt or my expanding belly).

I went to Costco and as I got home chicken juice leaked out all over my pants and shirt!!!!! So I took my clothes off put them in the washer and proceeded to the fridge.

As I checked the steak purchased last week for freshness the thick, brown juice/blood leaked all over me as well!!!!!!! What is up??????? It also dripped all over the kitchen floor and a little on Connor's head. OH well, it is a bath day today anyway... Needless to say, the steak is no longer good. Luckily I bought the yummy rotissiree (sp?) chicken...

Great American Brown Out...

Well, today was "A Day Without Immigrants". So many people on the radio said they had a great commute or half their class didn't show up to school, etc. It took me forever to get to work (accident on the 210) and I had a couple of kids absent - almost all white kids. Not a major impact in Covina ...

Then we go out to lunch-we had to go to 4 places before we found a place that was open!!!!!! We finally chose Terriaki Bowl because it is owned by an Asian guy so we figured he would be there. Needless to say, by the time we drove all over Covina, got to Terriaki Bowl, ordered and got our food, we had to scarf it down in record time to make it back to school before the tardy bell! I guess Covina was impacted after all.
(I hope I am not offending anyone with my subject line-that's what KFI was calling it today.)

The terrible two's strike...

Well, we have entered the terrible two's. Connor had two temper tantrums this afternoon within about 10 minutes of each other. I have come to realize the main problem is that he cannot communicate what he wants and gets frustrated or he wants something he can't have and gets frustrated. Lately this is happening a lot.

Why is it that he is so well behaved with other people? At day care today he apparently said "please" on his own all day-without being reminded! This is wonderful! It means all of my training is paying off! But, please let that sweet little boy come home with me!!!!

It's a girl!

Well, we found out we are having a girl! We are very excited! Now we will have one of each and our family will be complete (no more kids!). The doctor said "I don't see any boy parts..." Then added, "That looks like a vagina". So, we are pretty sure, although there is always the chance that he could be wrong.

Cute Connor moments

Today I caught Connor "singing" Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!! So cute! He was just playing with a truck in the other room and started to recite the words. I Say "singing" because he doesn't ever sing. He just says the words to things. Obviously he did not get my penchant for singing.

He also said "Thanks" today for the first time instead of "Thank You". What a grown up boy!
